Production Meeting 4

During this week the duties that I performed were getting the set ready meaning getting all the chairs that were needed and also getting the covers needed for the chairs, I also had to get the table needed for the centre pice of the show and finally I had to sort out the pictures to put on the backdrop so that the set relates to music.

The things that have been successful this week was getting everything ready in time for the live day, which meant that on the day I only had to sort out the pictures for the backdrop, and just fix up the set so that it looked nice and neat and inviting for the audience.

The things that I would have changed / developed was the cover used for the guests chair as it was dirty and to me it did not look to good, I would have also got a lot more pictures for the backdrop so that the backdrop looks fuller, and looks like a proper photo collage, and also i would have used something else to stick the pictures on to the green screen as the pictures kept falling down.

I worked well with my team this week as I helped Aisha with the different pictures to get, I also spoke to Chloe & Aisha whilst setting up the set to see if the set looks good and also if the chairs were even from the middle and things like that. I also worked quite closely with Yannick to help him with the script during school times whilst out of the class so that he was confident when it came to the live day.

I feel like my performance on the live day was quite good as during the morning I was lively and fixing the set so that it was ready for the first practise, I was also supporting the presenters whilst having breaks in between the practises, however during the recording of the show I thought that my performance was not good as I did not have nothing to do except from when the hot or not section were I had to change the slides. Once we had about 4 practise and it got later on in the day I also thought my performance dropped as I was getting tired, however the class managed to make it through the last live performance to pull it out the bag.

Production Meeting 2

This week I worked closely with floor manager (Aisha) and the director (Chloe), to work out how the set would look and what types of colours there would be, we decided to use the colours red black and gold as they go with the logo of the show and we also decided to have a picture collage on the backdrop of all different artists so that it fits in with the genre of the TV show.

The group like the design of the set, of having one sofa for the presenters which will be covered in red cloth and also another chair that will be covered in red cloth for the guests, our group also liked the colours that we (Chloe & myself) decided to use for the set as it matches with the logo, and also the picture collage for the backdrop with all the celebrities which will relate it more to the music video.

The things that were successful this week was designing the set and finishing it fully without having to change it several times, and also going to look and ask for the props needed for the live day show. Another thing that was successful was knowing what props we needed for the show and also going to look at them to see if they suited what the director and myself was looking for .

The things that I develop is more of an understanding of my role and knowing what to do n the day apart from set up the set and make sure that everything is on the set, I also have to make sure that all the props needed will be accessible on the day.

The things that I will be doing next week is to design the studio designs on fireworks to make it more visible for the class to see so they could roughly see how the set would look and what type of colours will be used, I will also be working with Aisha to create the picture collage for the backdrop, which should be quite simple.

I think whilst working with Chloe & Aisha this week that we worked extremely well together as it was easy for us all to decide on things that would happen on the set and on the floor during the show and finally what colours.

Production Meeting 1

This week my class mates and my self were all allocated our jobs for the live day, I was allocated the job of set designer, this meeting was run by the whole class sitting around in a circle, this was so that the each person was able to pitch there idea's to one another, once everyone had pitched there idea's, we then asked each person questions about there ideas to get more of an in site to the idea's. Once all the questions were asked and all the pitches were finished we were then given a voting sheet which we had to vote who's idea we liked and why.

The group liked my the title and the design that I used for the show this was because they said that it was unique and that it was good that i did not have to design it on the computer. They also thought that my idea was good as I decided to have 1 male and 1 female presenter so that it would go to all different genders. My USP is having a dance of between the guests and presenters.

I voted for Chloe's idea as I felt like she had some good content and I liked her title and the different idea's, for example the missing lyric idea I thought that was quite creative as it would give a different vibe to the show.

The reason why I voted for Chloe's idea is because she engaged the audience a lot in the programme which is good as they will keep watching the show to see what things they can get engaged in.

The aspects that related to the brief was that it is a half an hour magazine show, and also that it has audience engagement and finally that they have 15 minuets of adverts.

The area's that need to be improved is that there should be a female and male presenter not just 2 male presenters, the reason why i think this is because I think that the female and male presenters can relate more to the audience than 2 male presenters.

I think that Omar's ideas of the dance off and the visual representation of the artist could be incorporated into the final idea as the visual representation of the artists is the type of clothing that the audience we are aiming at more wear.

Production Meeting Reflection 3

The duties that I performed this week was to produce two studio designs, one which as the main studio and the second one was the desk set, to produce these I had to draw them out on paper and also write the props list underneath after drawing them I then made a clearer set designer on fireworks and put it onto my blog. The thing that has been successful for me this week has been creating the studio design as it was quite easy to do the lay out and figure out where all the chairs were going to go and what type of backgrounds there will be on the backdrop and what different colours that was going to be used during the TV show.

The things that we needed to change / develop was the backdrop as Aisha had to make it so that in the middle the logo could fit and also so that there would be enough pictures to fit on the backdrop of the main studio and then also to make sure that when it is going to be projected on the board it is big enough to fit on the board.

Next week I intend to get all the props that we need for the show to make sure that we are able to get them for the day of the show and also ask the DT department if we can use some red sheets for the chairs, and to also ask drama and the staff room if we are able to take the sofa and one chair for the show.

I believe that whilst working with Aisha and Chloe it was very effective as Aisha and myself split the work so that it was easier for us to complete the work needed for this weeks production meeting, also throughout this week we worked productively together as when we done the studio design blog we worked together to make the design on fireworks and to also write about the different sets that we used.

Studio Design

These are the studio designs that Monique and I came up with, we also spoke to the director (Chloe) to make sure that our ideas were what she wanted it to look like. 

From our ideas you can see that studio design area 1 (which will be the main studio) has two chairs one will be for the two presenters and the other for the guest's, we also decided to have a table and a center piece on top of the table, behind the chairs we also decided to have to lamps to make it look more attracting to the audience and will also look more relaxed and homely. For the two chairs that we have decided to use we will be covering them with red cloth to go with the colour scheme of black,red and gold, also going with the colour scheme the table is black with a gold pattern on the top, with the logo also being red, black and gold. The backdrop for this design is to have a photo collage with the logo being in the centre so that the audience can see the logo of the show as the logo will be the most prominent thing in the show. The props that will be used in this area of the studio will be a table, lamps and a center piece which will also be more engaging for the audience.


For the second studio area (which is the desk area) we have decided to have two chairs for each presenter which will also be covered in red cloth, the desk will also be covered in a black cloth or have musical pictures hanging from them. In this area we will use the projector to project pre-recorded Skype calls and snap chat video's. For the main backdrop there will also be the photo collage, however at this area it will be projected onto the screen instead of being stuck on. The props that we will be used in this area of the studio will be some magazines and musical pictures to put on the desk to make it more engaging for the audience.

For the background for our TV show we decided to have a photo collage of pop artists and some of their albums. In this collage that we created we included different artists that would appeal to different people. For example we have Ed Sheeran and 50 Cent who come under two different music genres. In total there are 32 different pop artists included in this collage. On the first set we will have the pictures printed out and stuck on the background the logo for the show will be stuck in the middle once it is finished. For the second set we will have this collage projected on the screen as it will need to be changed to show the Snapchats and Skype calls.
